Club Sports
I have always thought about joining a club sport here at SRU but have never actually gone out and done it. Unfortunately I am a junior now and its almost to point where it is too late to do it. I've thought about playing for the one of the club hockey teams and regret not ever doing it. I have played roller hockey since I was about 6 years old and I am sure I would have a blast playing in some type of league with a bunch of kids my age more often than just in the summer and occasionally over in a grove city league during the winter or spring. I suppose there technically still is time and I could try it next year for something to do but for now I'll stick to the leagues in my hometown and Grove City.

Changing Weather
The weather was fantastic today compared to what it has been recently and especially when compared to the rest of the weekend. Today was basically the perfect temperature to go out and participate in some form of physical activity. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that this random stroke of good weather will be short lived and it will quickly sink into frigid temperatures with the ground covered in snow. I find this to be upsetting because I feel it is much more difficult to go out and participate in some nice fun recreational activity. Sure, I could go to the arc but it always seems to be so overcrowded with people. It seems best to almost just embrace the cold and find some winter type activities. I love doing things such as skiing but unfortunately this costs money and we aren't exactly surrounded with resorts. I will certainly miss the warm weather but ill be sure to go out and find something to do regardless of the temperature and conditions!

Motor Development
It amazes me how much I have learned from my motor development class this semester. I had never realized how similar children are as they are learning a new skill. For example, we watched some videos of young elementary aged students throwing a ball it was neat to see how the majority of them all had the same immature pattern when attempting to throw simply because they have not been taught otherwise and have not been given enough practice opportunities to refine this skill. This pattern seemed to be true for all of the fundamental movement patterns we have looked at thus far and before this class I may have never realized.

I'm very impressed with the number of different intramural sports that we offer here at SRU. It seems as though there is always something to participate in throughout the entire school year. This is especially nice to me being from a highschool which did not offer a whole lot of seperate sports. Intramural sports are a great way to keep fit and active without having to go to the gym. It's also nice because it is an opporunity to play sports in college without all of the practice, stress, etc.
